WHAT IS THE PURPOSE AND SERVICES OF THE BCC?

PURPOSE:

To promote the business, cultural, financial, civic & recreational advantages of the Belleville area.

SERVICES:

~ Answer oral and written inquiries pertaining to the community.

~ Provides consolidated lists of apartments, real estate, professionals, churches, etc. to parties considering a move to the area and operates a Greeter Service for new residents.

~ Provides information on associations, clubs & organizations in the service area.

~ Operates a business referral service for consumers seeking a particular business. Maintains a complete business listing of the 48111 zip code.

~ Produces and/or distributes promotional material & information to help sell the area.

~ Publishes a (1) Community Calendar which lists chamber members categorically and includes current facts & figures on the area, (2) Belleville area Street Guide and (3) monthly newsletter for members.

~ Provides information to start a new business & loan resources for both new & existing businesses.

~ Provides networking opportunities to the business community through Quarterly General Membership Meetings, Legislative Breakfasts  and special seminars & workshops on timely topics.

~ Monitors solicitations to local businesses to protect from fraudulent charities & services.

~ Acts as a local better business bureau & takes customer complaints.

~ Organizes & sponsors such community activities as the annual Christmas Parade & the annual canned food drive & participates in the National Strawberry festival.

~ Promotes all area festivals, fairs & other community & business events.

~ As a member of the U.S. Chamber, Michigan Chamber, West Suburban Area Council of Chambers and the Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce it maintains information on legislative issues & items which deal with the business community.
